Confidence Returning for Air Travelers

A survey of area businesses shows that people are beginning to fly again. Carl Wolf, Chair of the KC Chamber’s Aviation Committee and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Garmin’s Aviation Group, said, “We have a solid sample size (739 respondents) which indicates to me that many people are considering travel again, and up from our similar survey of last year. Both personal and business travel is increasing, with personal travel (57 percent) leading business travel (43 percent).” Read Article

David Warm, for 30 years Executive Director of the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), was named the KC Chamber’s 2020 “Kansas Citian of the Year” at the KC Chamber’s Annual Dinner Tuesday. “Our honoree can best be described as a ‘servant leader’ – a man who has worked tirelessly for the benefit of our region,” said Alvin Brooks, 2019 Kansas Citian of the Year as he presented the award. The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce supports Kansas Governor Laura Kelly’s decision to enforce mask-wearing in Kansas. Science has proven that masks work in reducing the spread of COVID-19. Data shows wearing a mask is the best way to support small businesses across our region. A reduced spread means businesses have a better chance of keeping their doors open. Frontline medical workers are dealing with a surge of new cases. Hospitals are running low on staff and ICU beds to treat those cases. Read Article
