CEOs Commit to Diversity & Inclusion at KC Chamber’s POWER of Diversity Breakfast

Kansas City, MO - Getting CEOS to commit to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace was the central theme of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce’s POWER of Diversity Breakfast, this past , Wednesday, July 24 at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center.
The POWER of Diversity is the region’s premier celebration of the Metro’s culturally diverse business community. The event recognizes diverse workforce members and corporations that have demonstrated a commitment to diversity and inclusion (D&I).
The KC Chamber presented ACE Awards and the Supplier Diversity ACE Award to mid-to-senior level diverse managers who are increasing diversity efforts in the workplace, increasing growth in supplier diversity, and having a positive impact on their company. The Champion of Diversity Award recognizes a regional business that has made a durable commitment to embracing D&I in the workplace.

In addition to the awards, this year’s theme was the CEO Action pledge. The CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion is the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion within the workplace. More than 700 CEOs worldwide have signed the pledge. Dr. Andrea Hendricks, Senior Executive Director of Diversity, Inclusion Strategy at Cerner, moderated a panel of four local CEOs. Panelists include:
