ATHENA Award Nominations | Geopolitics in a Fragmenting Global Economy | Education Data for Action Summit | and more...

FROM THE KC CHAMBER’S PRESIDENT AND CEO

Each year, the KC Chamber’s ATHENA Awards give us the opportunity to recognize leaders who are not only achieving at the highest levels professionally but who are also committed to lifting others along the way. Nominations are now open for both the ATHENA Leadership Award and the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award, two of our region’s most prestigious honors for women’s leadership.

This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ATHENA Awards in Kansas City. For a quarter century, these awards have highlighted individuals whose leadership strengthens our community, expands opportunity, and creates lasting impact. Inspired by the Greek goddess known for wisdom, strength, and courage, ATHENA honorees reflect those same qualities in how they lead, serve, and invest in others.

What stands out most about ATHENA recipients is their commitment to something larger than themselves. They are mentors, advocates, and champions for others. They understand that leadership is not just about personal success, but about opening doors and creating pathways for those who follow. That spirit of shared success is part of what makes Kansas City such a strong and connected region.

As part of a global program, the ATHENA Awards also connect our community to a broader movement advancing leadership and opportunity for women around the world.

I encourage you to think about the leaders in your organization and your network who are making a difference and helping others succeed. Take a moment to submit a nomination by the May 22 deadline and help us celebrate the impact of women’s leadership across our region.
