POWER of Diversity | Neighborhood Networking at The Maverick KC | Re-Entry Simulation | and more...

FROM THE KC CHAMBER’S PRESIDENT AND CEO

At the KC Chamber, we know that inclusive leadership isn’t just a value—it’s a catalyst for regional growth, innovation, and connection. When people feel seen, supported, and empowered, our entire community benefits. That’s why it’s an honor to invite you to one of the Chamber’s most meaningful annual events: the POWER of Diversity Awards Luncheon, taking place Friday, July 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Now in its 24th year, POWER celebrates the individuals and organizations setting the standard for truly welcoming and inclusive workplaces across our region. We’re proud to welcome Jennifer Brown, bestselling author of How to Be an Inclusive Leader, as our keynote speaker. A globally respected voice on workplace inclusion, Jennifer will share practical, powerful insights on leading with authenticity and purpose. We’ll also present the ACE Awards to rising changemakers and the Champion of Diversity Award to an organization putting cultures of belonging into action. A special thanks to our 2025 Presenting Diversity Sponsor, CommunityAmerica Credit Union, for their continued support of this important work.

And in the spirit of celebration, I also want to recognize a major milestone in our region’s journey toward inclusive leadership. The Authentico Inclusive Leadership Certificate and Capstone Program recently graduated its first cohort of outstanding professionals; leaders who are now even more equipped to drive meaningful change in their workplaces and communities. Their accomplishment is a testament to what’s possible when we invest in leadership that reflects and respects the full diversity of Kansas City. Please join me in congratulating them on their achievement.

Together, these efforts are shaping a more welcoming future for our region. I hope you’ll join us in celebrating that momentum.

STATE OF PUBLIC SAFETY

Join us for the KC Chamber’s State of Public Safety on Thursday, July 31, from 8 to 10 a.m. in the KC Chamber Board Room at Union Station (30 W. Pershing Rd., KCMO). This powerful forum brings together top leaders in law enforcement, fire, EMS, and local government to examine the current state of safety across the Kansas City region.

Building on last year’s sold-out event, this year’s program features the latest data, real-world strategies, and collaborative solutions to address violence prevention and emergency response. You’ll hear directly from those on the front lines and learn how business, civic, and community partners are joining forces through initiatives like the Kansas City Public Safety Coalition and KC360.

Whether your organization is already engaged in public safety efforts or looking to get involved, this is your opportunity to connect, learn, and lead. Register now! Thank you to our State of Series Presenting Sponsor, UMB Bank.
