Public safety is fundamental to a strong economy, thriving neighborhoods, and the quality of life that makes Greater Kansas City a place where people want to live, work, and invest. That’s why the KC Chamber’s State of Public Safety has become one of our most important annual conversations. Building a safer region is a shared responsibility, and every employer, employee, resident, and visitor has a stake in that success.
This year’s program comes at a pivotal time. Just weeks ago, Kansas City, MO Chief of Police Stacey Graves announced her retirement at the end of 2026, marking the conclusion of a historic tenure as the first woman to lead the Kansas City Police Department. While leadership changes, our commitment to public safety and the partnerships that make it possible must remain steadfast.
