May 13, 2025 (KANSAS CITY, MO) – The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures is pleased to announce that Susan Stanton has been appointed as Interim Executive Director, following the departure of Petra Kralickova after eight years of dedicated leadership.
A long-time supporter of the arts and civic engagement, Stanton has served on the Museum’s Board of Directors, where she has played an integral role in strategic planning and financial governance.
“We are thrilled that Susan has agreed to take on the role of Interim Executive Director at this pivotal time. With her outstanding track record in organizational leadership and deep commitment to the Museum, she is well positioned to bring the stability and guidance needed at this important moment,” said Anne Manning, Chair of the Board of Directors.
Stanton brings with her a wealth of experience in interim leadership roles and a deep familiarity with the Museum’s operations and financials, ensuring a seamless transition. Her background includes working with numerous organizations during pivotal times of growth and transformation—expertise that will be invaluable during this leadership transition.

The Board of Directors and staff welcome Stanton into this role and look forward to working together as the Museum continues to thrive and evolve. The Board will soon begin the search for a new Executive Director, with plans in place to ensure a seamless transition and continued progress toward the Museum’s mission and continued growth.
