The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and the Civic Council of Greater Kansas City oppose any effort to redraw Kansas congressional districts in a way that further divides the Kansas City region or undermines its economic and civic cohesion.

The Kansas City metropolitan area is a key driver of the Kansas economy, with major contributions across manufacturing, healthcare, energy, and other key industries. Ensuring that congressional districts remain compact, contiguous, and aligned with existing regional communities supports effective representation in Washington, sustained economic growth, and continued bi-state collaboration.

We urge elected officials from all parties to maintain a fair and transparent redistricting process that strengthens the Kansas City region’s collective voice. A unified and well-represented region is essential to advancing shared priorities and long-term prosperity.
