OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – AdventHealth South Overland Park has appointed Jeremy Carlson, MSN, RN, as its new chief nursing officer, bringing a proven leader whose experience will directly enhance the safety, experience and whole-person care patients receive every day.
Carlson, who begins January 19, 2026, comes to AdventHealth with more than 22 years of
clinical and operational leadership experience and a track record of elevating patient outcomes, strengthening care teams and improving care delivery across complex health systems.
“Our patients deserve exceptional, compassionate, seamless care — and Jeremy’s leadership will help us continue delivering on that promise,” said Dallas Purkeypile, president and chief executive officer of AdventHealth South Overland Park. “He is deeply committed to fostering a
culture of collaboration, innovation and whole-person care, which not only benefits patients but elevates health and well-being across our community.
A Leader Focused on Better Outcomes and a Better Patient Experience
Most recently, Carlson served as Chief Nursing Officer for Ballad Health’s Southwest Virginia Market, where he led nursing and clinical operations for four hospitals, two cancer centers and multiple outpatient services. Under his leadership, the region realized significant improvements in patient flow, safety and quality, including shorter emergency department wait times, reduced RN turnover and patient experience scores in the 95th percentile nationally.
Carlson has also served in key emergency services leadership roles at Methodist Le Bonheur
South Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, and Munson Healthcare in Cadillac, Michigan, where he advanced initiatives to improve patient experience, reduce wait times and strengthen workforce stability.
He holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio University and is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Organization for Nurse Leaders.
