KC Chamber Statement on the Passing of William H. “Bill” Dunn Sr.
KC Chamber

The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce joins our community in mourning the loss of William H. “Bill” Dunn Sr., a legendary business leader, civic champion, and one of Kansas City’s most respected citizens.

Bill Dunn helped shape not only JE Dunn Construction into one of the nation’s premier construction firms, but also helped build the Kansas City we know today through his decades of leadership, philanthropy, and commitment to community. He served the KC Chamber in numerous leadership roles, including as a member and leader of our Board of Directors, and was recognized as a Kansas Citian of the Year in 1982 for his extraordinary contributions to our region. His influence can be seen throughout our skyline, our institutions, and the countless lives he touched through his generosity and example.

“Bill Dunn represented the very best of Kansas City,” said Joe Reardon, President & CEO. “He led with humility, integrity, and an unwavering belief that business success carries a responsibility to strengthen the community around us. His impact on this region is immeasurable, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations of civic and business leaders. On behalf of the KC Chamber, we extend our deepest condolences to the Dunn family, the entire JE Dunn team, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.”
