KC Chamber Asks Legislature to Remove Charter Change Proposal From November Ballot

The Board of Directors of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce unanimously voted in its August Board meeting on Monday of this week to request that Jackson County remove the county charter measure from the November 6 ballot, citing a lack of citizen and business input and requesting that a formal charter commission be established to conduct a comprehensive study of the current charter and county needs and recommend appropriate charter amendments to be placed on the ballot at a future date. Letters were sent this afternoon to the Chairman of the County Legislature and the County Executive.
