KANSAS CITY, MO, August 6, 2026 – Union Station’s Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium has been selected as one of just 25 North American venues—and one of more than 40 planetariums worldwide—to host an exclusive first-listen experience for Phoebe Bridgers’ highly anticipated new album, Lost Weekend.
The Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium at Union Station Kansas City is among a select group of venues participating in the Lost Weekend Planetarium Experience, a global series of immersive listening events taking place August 10–14 ahead of the album’s worldwide release on August 14. Alongside more than 300 midnight release parties around the world, the planetarium experience transforms Bridgers’ newest album into a shared audiovisual journey beneath the dome, pairing the music with a custom laser show from the legendary Laser Fantasy. Presented in partnership with Spotify.
The announcement generated an immediate response from Kansas City music fans.
All four originally scheduled performances at the Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium sold out within hours of tickets becoming available, prompting Union Station to add additional performances to accommodate overwhelming demand.

Unlike a traditional concert, the Lost Weekend Planetarium Experience invites audiences to experience the album in an entirely new way. Custom laser visuals fill the Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium’s 60-foot dome with dazzling animations, abstract imagery and immersive beam effects synchronized to the music, creating a powerful fusion of sound and light that surrounds guests from every direction. Phoebe Bridgers will not be in attendance.
The Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium has become one of the Midwest’s premier destinations for immersive astronomy, laser entertainment and educational programming. Featuring state-of-the-art digital projection, powerful surround sound and a 60-foot dome, the planetarium welcomes tens of thousands of guests each year for astronomy presentations, educational experiences, feature presentations and acclaimed laser shows. Its selection for the Lost Weekend Planetarium Experience places Kansas City alongside some of North America’s leading science centers and cultural institutions participating in this exclusive global event.
To preserve the immersive atmosphere envisioned by the artist, all performances will be phone- and camera-free. Upon arrival, phones, smart watches and recording devices will be secured in Yondr pouches and unlocked after guests exit the planetarium.
Within hours of tickets becoming available, all Thursday and Friday performances sold out, prompting Union Station to add additional performances to meet extraordinary demand.
