KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Oct. 4th 2026) — Kansas City area animal shelters will unite for the Petco Love KC MEGA MATCH Pet Adoption Event beginning Friday, Oct. 9 through Sunday, Oct. 11.
KC MEGA MATCH is the largest annual lifesaving collaboration in the metro powered by Petco Love, a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier.
All pet adoptions will be $25 during the weekend event at six participating organizations: Great Plains SPCA, Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, Independence Animal Services, KC Pet Project, Lawrence Humane Society, and Wayside Waifs.
This year’s shared goal is to find loving homes for 700 pets. All adoptable pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Prospective adopters will complete the standard adoption application process at the shelter where they adopt.
