2018 KC Chamber Chair Matt Condon announced today that Vice Chair Gordon Lansford will be the next Chair of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. Lansford’s one-year term as Chair will begin November 1, 2018.

“I’m truly honored and excited to serve as Chair at a time when there’s so much positive momentum in the Kansas City area,” Lansford says. “It’s sooner than I had planned, but I am looking forward to rising to the challenges of this role. We will continue to execute our strategic plan, and we have an outstanding staff led by Joe Reardon.”

Mike Hagedorn, former CEO of UMB, was slated to become Chamber Chair November 1, but resigned from the Chamber Board of Directors following his resignation from UMB.

Current Chamber Chair Matt Condon says, “We really appreciate Gordon’s willingness to step into the role of Chamber Chair a year earlier than he – and we - expected. I know firsthand the time commitments and responsibilities the chairmanship requires, and his acceptance of this new role is both gracious and evidence of his commitment to this organization.”

Condon continued, “We also want to wish Mike Hagedorn all the best. He’s served as an officer of the Chamber for the last three years and, most recently, led our successful Leadership Exchange visit to Denver where nearly 150 people from around the region learned about that city’s best practices. He has our sincere thanks and best wishes.”

Lansford was named President & Chief Executive Officer of JE Dunn Construction Company in 2014, the first non-Dunn-family CEO in the 90+ year history of the company. Prior to his current role, Lansford served as Chief Financial Officer for 15 years. Lansford graduated Summa Cum Laude from Baker University in 1993 and is a Certified Public Accountant.

In addition to his involvement in the Chamber, he’s active in many community organizations including American Royal, United Way, Salvation Army, Greater KC Community Foundation, MRI Global, National WWI Museum, and the Civic Council.
