Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC) is proud to celebrate four alumni from Cleveland’s College of Chiropractic nominated for the Kansas Chiropractic Association’s (KCA) 2026 Doctor of the Year award. This honor recognizes a Kansas doctor of chiropractic who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to their practice, their patients, and the advancement of chiropractic care.

The four alumni recognized for their outstanding work are Brian Asbury, D.C., Katie Benson, D.C., Justin Fulk, D.C., and Bradley Pyle, D.C.

Cleveland III, D.C. and President, Cleveland University-Kansas City. “Each of these doctors exemplifies what it means to serve patients, lead the profession, and give back to their communities.”

Brian Asbury, D.C., Cleveland University-Kansas City, 2015

For over a decade, Dr. Asbury has served the Wichita community as a bilingual chiropractor, offering a broad scope of services to his patients that includes spinal manipulation, rehabilitative exercise, occupational health services, and more. A 2015 CUKC graduate, he has been an active KCA leader, serving as Sedgwick District President, Co-Chairman of KCA Governmental Affairs, and Treasurer of the KCA PAC. He also represents Kansas as a Delegate to the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) House of Delegates and serves on the Kansas Department of Labor’s Workers’ Compensation Fee Schedule Advisory Board. He also received the KCA Dr. Darrell Fore Young Doctor of the Year award in 2017.

Katie Benson, D.C., Cleveland University-Kansas City, 2017

Earning her Doctor of Chiropractic degree magna cum laude from CUKC in 2017, Dr. Benson brings nine years of hospital-setting experience to Overland Park practice, Midwest MSK. She specializes in dry needling, the McKenzie method, instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy, myofascial release, and the Webster technique. She currently serves as KCA GAC Co-Chair and ACA Alternate Delegate for Kansas, and her advocacy work includes hosting legislators and building co-sponsor support for state and national legislative priorities.

Justin Fulk, D.C., Cleveland Chiropractic College-Kansas City, 2005

Dr. Fulk is a fourth-generation chiropractor and 2005 CCC-KC graduate who practices alongside his father and sister in Paola and Spring Hill, Kan. He has dedicated years to KCA leadership, serving as Kansas City Metro District President before ascending to Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President, President (2022-2023), and Immediate Past President. Beyond the profession, he has served as President of the Paola Chamber of Commerce and currently chairs the KCA Bylaws Committee.

Bradley Pyle, D.C., Cleveland Chiropractic College-Kansas City, 2010

A North Central Kansas chiropractor and 2010 CCC-KC graduate, Dr. Pyle has held nearly every leadership role within the KCA, including district officer positions, Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President, and President. He currently serves on the KCA Executive Committee and the BCBSKS Insurance Liaison Committee. A recipient of the 2018 KCA Dr. Darrell Fore Young Doctor of the Year Award, he has traveled to Topeka and Washington, D.C., multiple times to advocate for chiropractic patients and the profession.

Following voting by members of the KCA, the winner will be announced on Sept. 26, 2026 during the Fall Convention in Wichita, Kan.
