Overland Park, Kansas (Nov. 3, 2026) — Springline Kansas City’s newest partner not only brings fresh leadership expertise to the accounting and advisory firm but also an expanded service offering to its clients.
Jim Pierzchalski joined the firm on Aug. 24 to serve as a leader for the state and local tax team, but his previous experience allows him to expand the team’s offerings and add income tax as a new specialty under the state and local tax (SALT) umbrella.
Previously serving as a state and local tax partner for Prosperity Partners, he also has Big Four experience with nearly 13 years at PwC. But the shift back to smaller clients and a more personal touch, he said, has been a welcome one.
“I really enjoy the middle market because you get to be a little more hands-on with owners, CFOs, and controllers,” he said. “And I love the culture I’ve found here at Springline, especially how everyone interacts with each other and works together. We’re all on the same team, just trying to do what’s right for both our clients and the firm as a whole. It’s been fun to join that.”
Tax Partner Gina James said the addition of Pierzchalski allows the firm to expand its SALT services and help even more clients around the country.
“I’ve had the opportunity to get to know Jim, and I’m incredibly excited to have him join our team,” she said. “State and local income tax has become increasingly complex for businesses operating across jurisdictions, and Jim’s depth of expertise in this area is a tremendous asset. Beyond his technical capabilities, he brings a collaborative mindset and a passion for helping clients solve difficult problems, making him a great fit for our culture and our future.”
The University of Wisconsin graduate and father of three said he truly enjoys his work and witnessing how it can help drive growth and opportunity for local businesses.
“There’s truly a fun side to this,” he said. “We work with clients that are expanding, so maybe there are credits out there and refunds we can find. Tax isn’t always doom and gloom. Sometimes it’s cash coming back in the door!”
Pierzchalski has expertise helping clients with state and local tax issues related to income/franchise, sales tax, credits, incentives, and due diligence. He works with all client types and industries, including manufacturing, technology, service providers, and nonprofits, and assists clients with state income tax planning, structuring, controversy, and state residency issues. A frequent public speaker, he has presented both locally in Kansas City and on national webcasts covering legislation changes and other state and local tax issues.
