North Kansas City, MO. (Aug. 10, 2025) — NKC Health achieved High Performing ratings in seven areas of care in U.S. News & World Report‘s 2026–2027 Best Regional Hospitals rankings. The health system also received a High Performing rating in Maternity Care (Uncomplicated Pregnancy) for 2026.

Several NKC Health procedures and conditions have earned High Performing rankings for multiple consecutive years, demonstrating care that surpasses the national average.
- Knee replacement (nine consecutive years)
- Hip replacement (three consecutive years)
- Back surgery (spinal fusion) (two consecutive years)
- Diabetes (two consecutive years)
- Heart arrhythmia (two consecutive years)
- Pacemaker implantation (two consecutive years)
- Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) (two consecutive years)
High Performing designations highlight hospitals specialized expertise and commitment to exceptional care. The annual rankings and ratings are designed to help guide informed decisions about where to receive quality care and highlight hospitals that consistently deliver excellent outcomes.
U.S. News & World Report evaluated nearly 4,300 hospitals, but only one-third of them received a High Performing mark of distinction. Each hospital ranking is determined by a methodology that incorporates objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and the level of nursing care.
