KANSAS CITY (Feb. 4, 2026) – Several prominent Kansas City executives have launched a chapter of the American Cancer Society’s CEOs Against Cancer initiative in Kansas City, and they will take part in the inaugural CEOs Against Cancer Chapter meeting on February 4. The Kansas City chapter of the American Cancer Society’s CEOs Against Cancer initiative is proudly becoming the 20th chapter to join this impactful national movement.
CEOs Against Cancer is a premier partnership between the American Cancer Society (ACS) and leading world executives, working together to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
Dan Funk, President/CEO of Associate Wholesale Grocers and Jason Wollum, Chief Growth Officer of Henderson Engineers have been named chairs of the first CEO’s Against Cancer Kansas City Chapter. Other inaugural members include Sarah Cossa, SVP, Chief People Officer of American Century Investments; Matt Linski, President of Bank of America; Dr. Alejandro Quiroga President and CEO of Children’s Mercy; Julie Quirin, President of West Region of KCBJC West Region/St. Luke’s; Stephen Penn, Managing Partner of KPMG; Allan Swan, President of Panasonic; Kevin Barth, Chairman and CEO of Kansas City Region Commerce Bank; Tammy Peterman, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer of The University of Kansas Health System; and Allan Verrill, President and CEO of Advent Health Shawnee Mission.
These Kansas City business leaders join a distinguished group of more than 300+ executives representing 20 CEOs Against Cancer chapters nationwide who are committed to saving lives, reducing cancer risk, and promoting workplace wellness.

The Chapter meeting will bring together ACS leadership and CEOs from across Kansas City to share strategies, celebrate impact, and explore innovative ways to reduce cancer’s burden in the workplace. Attendees will gain access to exclusive resources and insights on how to foster a culture of health within their organizations.
