KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to welcome Gavriel (Gavri) Schreiber to the firm’s Kansas City, Missouri, office as an of counsel attorney in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group.

As the most recent general counsel to the Office of Mayor Quinton Lucas in Kansas City, Missouri, Schreiber spearheaded high-profile development initiatives and participated in some of the city’s most significant projects, including major sports ventures, housing development, and infrastructure improvements. He created innovative financing mechanisms and structured sophisticated multi-party transactions while building consensus among diverse stakeholder groups across multiple levels of government.

Schreiber employs this experience and public service-oriented mindset to represent clients with diligent advocacy, creative problem solving, and strategic relationship building both in and out of the courtroom. His unique public sector background helps him effectively utilize all applicable laws and regulations to achieve optimal outcomes in high-stakes matters. This comprehensive experience in both transactional and litigatory contexts provides clients with counsel who anticipates challenges and structures solutions for long-term success.

“We are so excited to welcome Gavriel, whose deep principles and achievements while working within the public sector align with our firm’s commitment to exceptional client service and fierce resolve to win,” said Julia Vander Weele, Office Managing Partner for Spencer Fane in Kansas City. “His experience advocating for specific policies and development initiatives while regularly assessing risk and resolving disputes will offer a balanced perspective within our wide-ranging litigation team.”

Schreiber obtained his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from the University of Maryland, then spent a year teaching English in Taiwan on a Fulbright grant before earning his Juris Doctor cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he served as Strategy and Oversight Chair of the Harvard Law Review and was a research assistant to Professor Laurence Tribe. Immediately following, he served stints as a law clerk to the Honorable R.
