KANSAS CITY, MO (DATE) — 15 and the Mahomies Foundation is teaming up with the American Red Cross to save lives on Wednesday, June 25, from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, KC Chamber Board Room, 1st Floor Union Station, 30 W Pershing Road, Kansas City, MO 64108.
All presenting blood donors will be entered in a raffle to win an autographed Patrick Mahomes Jersey. Donors will also receive a limited-edition T-shirt, $15 e-gift card and ticket to Worlds of Fun.
“The need for blood is constant. When we take the time to donate, we are giving the gift of life to others,” said Patrick Mahomes, “Thank you for everyone who comes out to donate. You’re saving lives by making sure blood is on the shelves when people need it.”
Donors wishing to donate are encouraged to make an appointment by visiting RedCrossBlood.org and using donor code 15Mahomies or call 1-800- Red-Cross.
June is a critical time of the year as blood donations tend to decline during the summer months. Donors of all blood types are needed. Those with types O, A negative and B negative blood are encouraged to make a Power Red donation at this blood drive.
Power Red donors give a concentrated dose of red blood cells during a single donation, allowing them to maximize their impact. During a power red donation, red blood cells are separated from other blood components, and the plasma and platelets are safely and comfortably returned to the donor.
