FROM THE KC CHAMBER'S PRESIDENT AND CEO

You are cordially invited to a Listening Session with KCMO Police Chief Stacey Graves Tuesday, November 28 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Green Hills Library Center, Community Room #2, at 8581 Green Hills Road in Kansas City North.

The Listening Session is one of a series of events with Chief Graves, organized by the Public Safety Coalition (PSC) – a group of 17 business, civic, and faith-based organizations that came together out of concern about the city’s high rate of violent crime.

In 2022, the PSC, with the KC Chamber as a founding member, was organized in response to the KCMO Police Board’s search for a new police chief. Our purpose: to determine what residents wanted in a new chief. Surveys and a series of listening sessions were conducted, and results showed people wanted trust and access.

Conversation can help build both, hence the listening sessions we’ve organized with Chief Graves.

At Tuesday’s event, Chief Graves will discuss the efforts her department is making to combat KC’s high rate of violent crime. Then we’ll move to world-café type table discussions, to be followed by Chief Graves’ responses to residents’ concerns and comments.

We hope you’ll attend! It’s free, but please RSVP at info@kcchamber.com.
