FROM THE KC CHAMBER'S PRESIDENT AND CEO

When the Missouri General Assembly and the Kansas Legislature convene in January, we’ll be sharing the story of the Kansas City region’s significant impact on the economies of the two states. It’s information our legislators need to know.

As shown in the Chamber’s Greater KC Report, the Missouri side of the KC metro contributes 22.7 percent to the state’s GDP, while the Kansas side of the metro represents 40.9 percent of that state’s GDP. Obviously, the Kansas City region has an enormous impact on the economies of both Missouri and Kansas.

The Greater KC Report makes for fascinating reading – full of data on issues important to all of us, everything from crime and violence to transportation to workforce and global trade. It’s a tremendous resource for everything Kansas City.

We’ll be sharing the information in the report with legislators from our two states (especially stressing the importance of our region to the states’ economies). Meanwhile, the Chamber Board has approved the public policy agendas we’ll be carrying to Jefferson City and Topeka. For our Kansas agenda, click here. For the Missouri agenda, click here.

One more important item to share:  my very best holiday wishes to you and yours, and a very Happy 2020!
