OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Caleb Phillips joined the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group as an of counsel attorney in the firm’s Overland Park, Kansas office.

Phillips draws on over ten years of litigation and counseling experience to help businesses and individuals navigate complex legal issues and disputes. His practice focuses on securities litigation and compliance, employment law, and white-collar defense. According to Phillips, his priority is to provide communicative and comprehensive client service so his clients can focus on their goals and business objectives.

Having served as both a public official and as a private attorney, Phillips brings a unique perspective to efficiently managing cases and representing clients in all stages of the litigation process, from providing preventive guidance on compliance issues to shepherding clients through case initiation, motion practice, discovery, trial, and appeal. Missouri Governor Mike Parson previously appointed Phillips to serve as the Prosecuting Attorney for Nodaway County, Missouri, where he revamped the office’s case management system and successfully tried several cases to jury verdicts. In private practice, Phillips has established a proven track record in representing investment advisers, broker-dealers, and businesses in a broad range of industries (large and small) in securities matters, employment disputes, and litigated commercial cases throughout the country.

“Caleb brings a breadth of experience that aligns with our firm’s commitment to collaborative and efficient client service,” said Blane Markley, Office Managing Partner for Spencer Fane in Overland Park. “As our clients navigate a myriad of challenges and opportunities facing their businesses, we remain dedicated to calibrating our services to best meet their needs related to complex litigation matters.”

Phillips previously served as a judicial clerk for Judge Zel M. Fischer of the Missouri Supreme Court and for Judge Roseann A. Ketchmark of the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri. He completed his undergraduate studies in business administration at the University of Missouri and later earned his Juris Doctor from Indiana University’s Maurer School of Law.
