Get ready for a new cocktail destination Pierpont’s at Union Station to offer new Tiki Express Cocktail Experience

Kansas City, MO (6/2/21) — The Conductor Club by Pierpont’s at Union Station celebrated its one-year anniversary on Memorial Day weekend with the grand opening of a brand-new cocktail destination in Kansas City – the Tiki Express Cocktail Experience. Tiki Express offers limited runs of themed and photo-worthy cocktails in a new and unique setting from 5 pm to midnight every Friday and Saturday through the end of July.

The Conductor Club, one of the newest craft cocktail bars in Kansas City, offers one-of-a-kind spirit tastings and elevated themed cocktail experiences. Past themes have included Christmas (Elf’d Up), Valentine’s Day (Love Shack), St. Patrick’s Day (Restless March), Kentucky Derby (Derby Days) – and now Tiki Express.

The Conductor Club is the result of locally owned Pierpont’s restaurant search for ways to offer the Kansas City community a safe and unrivaled place to go out during the pandemic while generating a new revenue stream to help preserve the jobs of its employees. “We are delighted to see how well-received our new concept is and how much momentum despite the adverse conditions it has built for what should be a solid second year,” says Tim Watters, General Manager of Pierpont’s at Union Station.

The Conductor Club opened on May 29, 2020, with a socially distanced whiskey tasting featuring Maker’s Mark in Pierpont’s Belvidere Private Dining Room. Since then, The Conductor Club has hosted 17 tasting events, including some local distilleries such as J. Rieger & Co., Restless Spirits Distilling, and Union Horse Distilling Co.

The detailed concept was developed and brought to life by Scott Deigert, Bar Director at Pierpont’s, Maddie Salerno, Marketing Manager for The Hereford House Restaurant Group, and Stephen Valenti, VP of Marketing for The Hereford House Restaurant Group. “Our dedicated team has done a fantastic job in designing one of the most unique destinations for enjoying some of the best cocktails you can find in town,” says Valenti.

The traditional train car feel has been magically transformed into the ambiance of a traditional tiki bar. The large booth area is now a personal cabana where groups of 8 – 10 guests can enjoy delicious cocktails while feeling like they are on vacation in an exotic location. Every detail of the space has been designed to be worthy of a photo, from the 9ft Captain Morgan statue to the elaborately decorated ceiling.

In keeping with the tropical theme, the selection of delectable mixed drinks has its roots in classic tiki with a bit of whimsy thrown in. Many of the cocktails, such as the ConductARR Grog, are based on premium and exotic rums, blended with choice ingredients for a unique flavor.

The Tiki Express Cocktail Experience is located on the third floor of Union Station and, in addition to limited-seating spirit tastings, will soon also offer cocktail-making classes. Reservations are recommended due to the limited-seating nature of the venue.
