We at the KC Chamber are deeply saddened at the news of Bob Kipp’s death.

In 2000, the Chamber awarded its highest honor – the Kansas Citian of the Year – to Bob. The award was richly deserved.

The Kansas Citian of the Year Award is given “only to those persons whose civic contributions and achievements have reflected the insight, creativity and consciousness necessary to build and maintain a quality urban community.”

Bob Kipp did just that through his years of service as City Manager of Kansas City, Missouri, followed by his years at Hallmark. His wisdom, advice, and thoughtfulness added much to the many civic organizations he supported, including the KC Chamber.

He will be missed.
