SPRING START CENTURIONS – GRADUATION

They’ve learned, they’ve served and they’ve led. Now, join us as they graduate! The Social Committee cordially invites you to gather with your fellow Centurions and their guests as we celebrate the important work that the Second Years have achieved during their time with us. We’ll also announce the winners of three big honors—Centurion of the Year, Outstanding First Year and Taskforce of the Year. Both classes of the Spring Cohort are encouraged to attend this “year-end” wrap party, and each Active is welcome to bring one guest. Ready to serve? Check out VolunteerMark for a few opportunities that are still in need of volunteers. Check the calendar regularly as new projects are added weekly and look for newsletter announcements or GroupMe to sign-up for projects in which spots still need to be filled.

SPRING

DEADLINE TOMORROW! INVITE YOUR EXECUTIVES TO THE 2nd YEAR EXECUTIVE BREAKFAST

Second-Year Centurions and their executives are invited to attend this breakfast to learn about the accomplishments of the graduating Centurions over the last two years. This is also an opportunity to see how their investment in the program will return a more engaged, educated, thoughtful, and connected leader. This year’s breakfast is scheduled for Tuesday, July 27 in the KC Chamber Boardroom (Union Station, first floor) from 7:30-9 a.m. Next steps: We would like to send (virtual) formal invitations to your CEO, Supervisor, and/or a Board member within the next few weeks, but we need your help! We understand that your leadership may have changed since you started the program, and of course we recognize many people are still working from home. It's important that we send invitations to the right people. Please complete the fields for those you would like to receive an invitation.

DEI: CRUCIAL CONVERSATIONS

The DEI committee is excited to continue our Crucial Conversations forum, advancing awareness of historically marginalized persons and communities. Our next conversation will focus on the AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) communities and the challenges that they have overcome and still face today. Our intent is that you can walk away from this discussion feeling more educated and informed on how you can help create a more equitable Kansas City for all. Register here >>

After leading or working on more than 200 movie theater projects worldwide, Tucker’s other notable work includes the giant library books gracing the Kansas City Library downtown parking garage, the HyVee Hot Zone at Arrowhead Stadium and the University of Kansas’ Allen Fieldhouse.
