NEW HEAD CONSUL ARRIVES AT THE CONSULATE OF MEXICO IN KANSAS CITY

The Consulate of Mexico in Kansas City welcomes its new Head Consul, Soileh Padilla Mayer, who began her duties as Consul of Mexico in Kansas City on August 17. She is thus integrated at the head of a team of committed and experienced officials, to
promote the interests of Mexico and provide the best possible service to the community of nearly 750,000 Mexican men and women living in the states of Kansas, Missouri and western Oklahoma.

Head Consul Padilla-Mayer has a BA in International Studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and an MBA in Politics of Alternative Development Strategies at the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherlands. Her work experience includes the following fields: government, academia, media and publishing industry. As a member of the Mexican Foreign Service, her most recent appointment was at the Embassy of Mexico in Canada as Head of the Cultural and Academic section.

At the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she served as Assistant and Advisor to the Undersecretary for North America; Director of the Cultural Center “Luis Cardoza y Aragón” at the Embassy of Mexico in Guatemala; Cultural Attaché at the Consulate General of Mexico in Houston; Director for Academic Exchange and Secretary to the Chief Officer for Cultural Affairs at the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Previously, she was appointed Chief of Staff of the Director of Mexico´s Institute of Fine Arts. In the private sector she worked at Editorial Azabache, publishing house and at Azteca Broadcast Television. She was also the National Coordinator of the Campaign against Torture, organized by the Mexican Academy of Human Rights.
