You're invited to watch the Virtual Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Celebration of The Building Dreams and Transforming Lives Capital Campaign at Wayside Waifs.

This Exciting $8.7 million project added 20,000 square feet to Wayside's 50-acre campus. The project includes an Education and Training Center expansion and stand-alone Canine Behavior Center. due to COVID-19, we have made this event a virtual event.

Project Summary: This 14-month construction project added 20,000 square feet to Wayside’s 50-acre campus. Included in the project is an Education and Training Center expansion and a stand-alone and second-in-the-nation Canine Behavior Center.

Highlights include three large multipurpose rooms for pet and people training and special event hosting, 21 indoor-outdoor dog kennels, large indoor and outdoor training yards, offices, collaboration spaces, parking, storage, classroom space, canine real-life rooms, restrooms, and more.

About Wayside Waifs

Wayside Waifs is a no kill animal shelter serving 6,000 animals annually. Founded in 1944 by Fenby Webster, the shelter’s circle of care includes pet adoption, fostering, veterinary shelter care, behavior modification and training programs, humane education, an off-leash Bark Park, and pet memorial services. The shelter has 70 employees and 1,300 volunteers. Wayside is located at 3901 Martha Truman Rd., Kansas City, Mo.
