KANSAS CITY, Mo. (February 3, 2020)—Stinson LLP Partner Elizabeth Tassi has been selected as a 2020 Woman to Watch, by the Women in IP Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).

Tassi is recognized for accomplishments in her practice, advocacy for women in law, and leadership on the annual AIPLA Women in IP Global Networking event. She designed and planned the first Women in IP event for Kansas City in 2015 and continues to organize this event now in its sixth year.

“Elizabeth's firm and client service demonstrates her commitment to the legal profession and to her community,” said Ann Jenrette-Thomas, Stinson’s chief diversity and inclusion officer. “A skilled counselor and strong IP attorney, Elizabeth is also a driving force behind the firm's diversity and inclusion work as well as an unwavering advocate for women in the legal profession.”

In her practice, Tassi helps clients turn trademark and copyright portfolios into assets. Her sweet spot is international trademark portfolio management, and she has significant experience in trademark and copyright prosecution and enforcement. She is in regular communication with U.S. trademark and copyright examiners and a large network of trademark associates around the world.

Tassi was elected partner at the firm in 2015 while working an alternative work schedule, and she continues to mentor attorneys on developing meaningful client relationships and generating business while working such a schedule. She supports the Women’s Intersport Network for Kansas City, an organization dedicated to promoting healthy and active lifestyles for women and girls. Tassi is also involved with Kansas City Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the arts, where she provides pro bono legal advice on trademark and copyright matters for local artists.
