SAVION EXPANDS LEADERSHIP TEAM
May 11, 2020
Kansas City, MO. (May 4, 2020) – Savion, LLC announced the appointment of two veteran renewable energy executives to newly-created roles, deepening its senior leadership team. Dave Carroll has joined Savion as senior vice president of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC). Diana Scholtes is the company’s new chief commercial officer.
Carroll will lead the EPC areas of Savion’s business for the entire project development life cycle. He has more than 13 years of experience leading construction, engineering, and program management teams across the renewable energy industry including wind, solar, bioenergy, and storage technologies, contributing to over 7 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy globally.
Carroll will leverage his knowledge of capital expenditures, contract management, project finance, and compliance with offtake agreements to drive positive outcomes for Savion, its clients, and the communities it serves. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining and Minerals Engineering and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate from the University of San Diego.
“Savion has assembled a strong leadership team and has built an organization with extensive expertise and experience in solar and energy storage development,” Carroll said. “It’s a privilege to join Savion, and I look forward to working with the team to serve clients and communities and help further Savion’s growth.”
As Chief Commercial Officer, Scholtes will further expand Savion’s origination and commercial transactions team and oversee new business product development, market strategy and analysis, proposals, and additional power marketing activities. Scholtes has spent more than 21 years managing all aspects of the energy value chain, including creating innovative renewable products for clients through her diverse experience in power operations, energy trading, business development, origination, operations, and asset development.
In her previous role, Scholtes led Avangrid Renewables’ wind and solar sales activities across the United States, focused on developing tailored customer solutions, portfolio optimization, and risk management. Prior to completing the Women’s Leadership Program at the Yale School of Management in 2019, Scholtes completed the Executive Management Program at ESADE Business School in Madrid, Spain.
“I am excited to be joining Savion and to be working with such a creative and highly disciplined team,” Scholtes said. “I am confident in our ability to lead the industry in this evolving marketplace and look forward to bringing renewable solutions to our clients that are best suited to meet their needs.”
Scholtes will report to Chief Operating Officer Geoff Coventry, and Carroll will report to Chief Executive Officer Rob Freeman. “Savion began with a talented team from Tradewind Energy, and with the addition of Dave and Diana in two new key senior management positions, we have further strengthened the company’s leadership,” Freeman said. “Expanding the executive team with their specialized backgrounds and history of success aligns with Savion’s strategic initiative for next-level market growth.”
