On July 4th, the roar of 10 Harley-Davidson motorcycles will echo over the company picnic for PB&J Restaurants. Founder and CEO Paul Khoury will hand over the keys to these machines to 10 well-deserving employees honoring their 15 years of service to PB&J or one of its related companies. Nearly 1200 fellow team members and their families will attend this annual event at World of Fun/Oceans of Fun. When you work for PB&J, you become a valued member of one big family. One core quality they admire is loyalty. In fact, as a thank you for 15 years of service, working for one of the restaurant concepts, each team member is awarded a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Khoury says the idea of the giveaway was a complete accident. It all started years ago when one of PB&J’s first employees asked what he would get if he worked there for a year, five, or ten years. Khoury’s answer was always more vacation days. When the employee asked what he would get if he was still there at 15 years, an exasperated Khoury asked him what he wanted, and he said a motorcycle. Thus, the idea was born to give employees motorcycles after 15 years. So, every year Khoury closes all the restaurants and the team members and their families meet in Kansas City, to celebrate the Fourth of July and hold the awards ceremony for the Harley giveaway. With the 10 Harleys presented this year, Khoury will have presented 92 sets of keys since the start of the company.

Since founding PB&J in 1987, Khoury has instilled a commitment to excellence that has earned the company a reputation for exceptional food and service in the Kansas City area and beyond. As a rule, Paul believes that family comes first and is of the utmost importance. The PB&J culture embodies this philosophy in the way they treat their team members. The vision behind the brand really comes down to loyalty and creating an environment where people want to come to work every day. PB&J emphasizes the importance of flexible work hours and the ability to work at any of their concepts. There are members of the team who have started out as part-time servers and who are now part of the leadership team. PB&J offers an unparalleled culture and work environment that continues to evolve and grow as each year progresses.

Each PB&J restaurant features hand-crafted and inventive cuisine in a fun and exciting environment. These elements combined with reasonable pricing, comfortable décor, and superb service, create a casual dining experience with extraordinary value.
