McCownGordon Construction Makes Fortune Magazine’s Great Place to Work List

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (October 27, 2020) – McCownGordon has one again been certified as a Fortune Magazine Great Place to Work® and ranked in the nation’s top 100 Best Medium Workplaces in 2020. It was the only company in Missouri to make the list, which is based on confidential survey feedback from 189,000 employees working in small- and medium-sized businesses in the United States.

The Fortune ranking, part of the magazine’s partnership with people analytics firm  Great Place to Work. Employees answer more than 60 questions describing the extent to which their organization creates a place to work that is great for everyone. According to Fortune, 85 percent of the evaluation is based on what employees say about their experiences of trust and reaching their full human potential as part of their organization, no matter who they are or what they do. This is analyzed based on each organization’s size, workforce makeup and what’s typical relative to peers in the industry. The remaining 15 percent is based on an assessment of all employees’ daily experiences of innovation, the company’s values and the effectiveness of their leaders to ensure they’re consistently experienced, the Fortune website explains.
