AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Renews Certified Member Relationship with MD Anderson Cancer Network® to Continue Delivering Greater Cancer Care in Kansas City Metro

Overland Park, KS – AdventHealth Cancer Center Shawnee Mission opened in 2014 and in November 2017, announced its landmark affiliation as a certified member of MD Anderson Cancer Network®, a program of MD Anderson Cancer Center, one of the top ranked cancer centers in the United States.

During these last three years, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission providers have facilitated 535 peer-to-peer requests accessing MD Anderson faculty for multidisciplinary expertise and personalized treatment for rare or complex cases. Additionally, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission physicians have accessed a wide range of care resources developed by MD Anderson, including disease-specific and evidence-based treatment guidelines, safety practices and professional education. Thirteen cancer specialists at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission are certified by MD Anderson Cancer Network and several more are participating in the process.

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is pleased to renew its certified member relationship, continuing its valued affiliation with the network to deliver greater cancer care. AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is the only network member in the Kansas City metropolitan area and in the region.
