THE CENTURIONS FALL 2020-2021 LEGACY PROJECT APPLICATION IS NOW OPEN!
The Centurions Legacy Project application window is now open.  Don’t miss your chance for your organization to be a part of this amazing program!

Every year the Centurions select a Legacy Project, with the intent to bring a long-lasting benefit to the Kansas City community. The committee plans, leads, and organizes Centurion volunteers to participate in and complete the project.

While every project is unique, Centurions provide several hundred skilled volunteer hours, several thousand dollars, and tremendous, visibility to community leaders.  Additionally, we leverage all of our relationships across the city to secure in-kind donations and sponsorships for our projects – in some instances these contributions are enormous. Projects can be short, or last as long as ten months to complete. Apply here >>

FALL

REMINDER! INVITE YOUR EXECUTIVES TO THE 2nd YEAR EXECUTIVE BREAKFAST

Second Year Centurions and their executives are invited to attend this breakfast to learn about the accomplishments of the graduating Centurions over the last two years. This is also an opportunity to see how their investment in the program will return a more engaged, educated, thoughtful, and connected leader. This year’s breakfast is currently scheduled for on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 in the KC Chamber Boardroom (Union Station, first floor). While we know that could potentially change, having this information on hand will expedite the process either way.

Next steps: We are going to send electronic invites to your CEO, Supervisor, and/or a Board member within the next few weeks, but we need your help! We understand that your leadership may have changed since you started the program, and we want to make sure we are sending invitations to the right people.

Even if you cannot attend, we still encourage you to invite your executives. This is their opportunity to see all the hard work you have put into the program over the last two years. If your executives cannot attend, but you can, that’s great too!

ONLINE AND NEW TIME: NONPROFIT BOARD BASICS

Many Centurions serve or plan to serve on a board to have a substantial and ongoing impact in our community. Board service is also an effective way to grow your professional network and develop leadership skills.

Set yourself up for success! This is your chance to get the answers to all the questions you have, and some you didn’t even know you had, about serving on a nonprofit board. Luann Feehan, President & CEO of Nonprofit Connect, will explore the basics, challenges and trends of board service. Luann is a Certified BoardSource Governance Trainer and experienced nonprofit board member. This event takes on April 21 at 9 a.m. Register here >>
