Named for civil rights activist and former Centurion, Bernard Powell, since 1980 the Centurions Leadership Program has recognized alumni who demonstrate outstanding leadership, deep commitment to service, and clear passion for the improvement of the Greater Kansas City area in Bernard Powell’s memory. Attend this event to learn more about the history of the Vernon School now used as the Vernon Multi-Purpose Center. Its mission is to function as an outreach facility, serving Wyandotte County citizens. The Center's purpose and goal is to enhance the general, physical, and well-being of the community it serves.
