SPRING START CENTURIONS – GRADUATION

They’ve learned, they’ve served and they’ve led. Now, join us as they graduate! The Social Committee cordially invites you to gather with your fellow Centurions and their guests as we celebrate the important work that the Second Years have achieved during their time with us. We’ll also announce the winners of three big honors—Centurion of the Year, Outstanding First Year and Taskforce of the Year. Both classes of the Spring Cohort are encouraged to attend this “year-end” wrap party, and each Active is welcome to bring one guest. LUC: THE GOLDEN SCOOP

The Golden Scoop is the only non-profit ice cream and coffeeshop in the KC Metro. Its mission is to provide meaningful employment for people with developmental disabilities, to foster an environment where employees are mentored, inspired, and equipped to succeed in their jobs and their lives, and to offer amazing made-from-scratch products. FIRST-YEAR SOCIAL

First-year Fall Centurions, please join us for a short program and social at HNTB’s downtown office, starting with networking at 4:30. The program portion will begin at 5:00 and a Zoom link will be available for the program for those who cannot attend in person. We will discuss logistics for second-year task force selection, chair assignments, steering elections, retreat, and more. The program will be followed by a social at the HNTB bocce ball court. A DEI CIVIL RIGHTS TOUR OF KANSAS CITY

July 29, 2021
4:00-6:00 p.m.
Hop on Board the KC Streetcar for a special guided tour hosted by Erik Stafford and the Kansas City Tour Company. The “Street Car River City Civil Rights Tour” will talk about the rich history of Kansas City’s politics, economics, and civil rights. This tour includes walking and riding the streetcar and is limited to a group of 20 Centurions. Please bring comfortable walking shoes and a water bottle. Register here >>

LUC: THE BUSINESS OF BALLET WITH THE KANSAS CITY BALLET

Join us for our next LUC with the Kansas City Ballet! We will have learn about "the business of ballet" from Kevin Amey, Chief Operating Officer and Jeff Bentley, Executive Director, of the Kansas City Ballet.

This event will also include a short tour of the Todd Bolender Center for Dance & Creativity. This historic Power House building at Union Station was opened in August 2011 and now serves as the 60,000 sq. foot home of the Kansas City Ballet. This is also an opportunity to see how their investment in the program will return a more engaged, educated, thoughtful, and connected leader.

As our program year wraps up, the Steering Committee would like to have one last celebration together since our in-person opportunities were limited.
