PINNACLE

LUC: MYRON MCCANT

August 19, 2022
9-10:30 a.m.

Reinventing the Childcare Industry out of the Pandemic. Myron McCant is the CEO of KD Academy. In August 2012, The Kiddie Depot scaled the business model into a 3,000 square feet commercial facility and, within the 3rd quarter of the same year, was operating at maximum capacity. Shortly after that, the business saw new opportunities as the market demanded extended hours of service. Understanding the glaring need for quality service, Myron decided to meet the need and begin to provide service around the clock for working parents regardless of their work schedule. The center, formerly named The Kiddie Depot Learning Center, is Kansas City’s only child care facility that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Relocating to the 14,000-square-foot facility located at 2141 Prospect Ave. will allow KD Academy to enhance its services, boosting its caretaking employees from 19 to 65. Myron will provide a unique insight into reinventing an industry during the time of a pandemic. The skills and direction to reimage a unique field or industry. Register here >>

ALUMNI

ALUMNI DUES

We want to do our best to help you stay connected to fellow alumni. If you would like to continue your Centurions Alumni Association membership, feel free to follow this link to pay online by scrolling down to the "Centurions Invoice Payment" section to pay the $75 alumni dues. On the form, include the code “AD-2022” when it requests an invoice number, and include your first and last name in the notes section so we can pair each payment to the appropriate alumnus. All Apex 2022 graduates were invoiced in early July for the 2022-2023 Alumni dues. If you registered for the Alumni Luncheon you also paid your dues for the upcoming year as part of the fees. If you are unsure if you have paid, please let Katherine know.

Alumni Dues: Please Remember that 100% of alumni dues go toward alumni programming, existing scholarships for active Centurions, and beginning last fall, a new DEI Legacy scholarship opportunity. The Centurions Alumni Association is committed to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Centurions program. As a first step in this effort the Centurions Alumni Board has created the DEI Legacy Scholarship. This Scholarship covers the full cost of tuition and trip fees for one professional from a traditionally underrepresented group who is working to create equity within Kansas City. We hope to fund one scholarship per class on an ongoing basis. To help us toward this goal, Alumni dues have increased to $75.

If you require a copy of your invoice for your alumni dues, please contact Katherine Gathje.

Joining the Alumni Association guarantees you a copy of the Alumni Directory once it’s published in the fall. Please stay tuned for more information on upcoming events.
