SUPPORT KC STUDENTS - SUPPLIES DRIVE!

As schools make the difficult decision to move to virtual classrooms, more and more KC kids need a safe place to be during the day. A group of afterschool service providers, including Camp Fire Heartland, Boys & Girls Club, the YMCA and others, are stepping up to provide kids a safe place to do virtual school during the day—prioritizing those most in need. These providers need Centurions’ help gathering supplies to keep students engaged. Here are the supplies that we are collecting to support this effort:

  • Crayons
  • Scissors (blunt and pointed)
  • Water paint
  • Coloring pencils
  • #2 pencils
  • Pencil sharpeners
  • Big erasers
  • Pencil boxes
  • Copy paper
  • Construction paper
  • Masks
  • Face Shields
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Baby wipes
  • Small laundry baskets

We will be collecting these donations in mid-September. More information to come on supply drop off logistics.

FALL

FALL START CENTURIONS - MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

Calling all first years to attend the Virtual Kickoff Breakfast on Thursday, August 27 from 7:30-9 a.m. to recap everything you learned at one of our information sessions or networking socials earlier this spring. Meet with your fellow classmates and learn everything you need to know from second-year Steering Committee members and Chamber staff. Headshots will be taken the next morning, August 28 from 7:30-9 a.m., so sign-up here and come picture ready!

Virtual Retreat is September 16-18, and a more formal agenda with specific times will follow.

There are several contact-free, small group, or virtual volunteer opportunities that are now open to both classes and are on a first-come, first-served basis. Opportunities are open “year-round” for everyone, which we will track by program year (Fall: July 1-June 30 and Spring: Feb 1-Jan 31).

Ready to serve? Check out VolunteerMark for a few opportunities that are still in need of volunteers. Check the calendar regularly as new projects are added weekly and look for newsletter announcements or GroupMe to sign-up for projects in which spots still need to be filled.

ALUMNI DIRECTORY AND DUES

We want to do our best to help you stay connected to fellow alumni. If you would like to continue your Centurions Alumni Association membership, please use this link to pay the $50 alumni dues fees. On the form, include the code “AD-2021” when it requests an invoice number, and include your first and last name in the notes section so we can pair each payment to the appropriate alumnus.
