Linwood, Kan. – Operation BBQ Relief, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, will host a special Day of Remembrance and Gratitude in Linwood, Kan. on May 4, 2024 as part of their “Feeding the Firefighters” initiative in recognition of International Firefighters Day.

Operation BBQ Relief is returning to Linwood, Kan. to host a free BBQ lunch honoring the resilience and strength of our community and thanking our first responders, including the Firefighters of Leavenworth County Fire District, five years after the devastating tornado that struck Douglas and Leavenworth counties in Kansas. This event is open to community members!

                 Linwood, Kan.

This year marks the second annual "Feeding the Firefighters" event, which has grown significantly since its inception. Last year, Operation BBQ Relief served meals to firefighters in 46 individual firehouses in 9 states and 14 cities. This year, the program has expanded to encompass 121 feedings across 22 cities in 13 states.
