Resilient KC Student Internship

TITLE OF POSITION: Student Internship- Resilient KC
INTERNSHIP TYPE: Unpaid—Academic Credit

Resilient KC is an initiative partnership between the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and Trauma Matters KC to provide awareness on the impacts of adversities on the community and build a resilient Greater Kansas City. (

The work will include focus on public policy, regional planning, and health and wellness. This opportunity offers a front row seat to high-level conversations about the future of the Kansas City metro area with regards to health and wellness and the ability to interact with subject matter experts.
The Resilient KC intern will work closely with Jasmin Williams, project director of Resilient KC, throughout the spring semester on special projects and events.
Internship duties will vary but may include the following:
  • Oversight of the Resilient KC Ambassador program
  • Community presentations
  • Coordinating and assisting UMKC’s Institute for Human Development in the collection of community ACEs data
  • Special event coordination and support
The Resilient KC initiative is looking for an intern to work January through March of spring 2017. Hours and daily schedules are flexible and may range from 2-5 days per week.
The ideal intern candidate will have their own transportation, a flexible schedule, strong written and oral communication skills, and must be self directed. They should be organized and diligent in their work and have demonstrated a track record of academic achievement.
