Over the next few weeks, our Small Business Celebration judges will be fanning out across the metro area to visit the Top 10 finalists for the Mr. K award for the best small business in the region. The winner will be announced at a special 25th Anniversary Small Business Celebration Dinner May 25th at the Muehlebach Hotel.
We’re looking forward to a series of truly inspiring site visits, particularly in light of how well these fine companies have fared in the wake of the Great Recession.
As a group, our 2011 Top 10 Small Businesses:
- Grew revenues, on average, 34.2% in 2010 (up from 29% for last year’s finalists)
- Grew employee count, on average, 23.6% in 2010 (compared to last year’s 26% increase)
- Employed 956 people in 2010 (up from last year’s total of 518)
- Posted total revenues of more than $322 million in 2010 (up from last year’s $197 million)
