Diversity Business Connection

Formerly the Minority Business Alliance (MBA), the Diversity Business Connection (DBC) focuses on creating the best possible environment to foster minority and women-owned business growth. The Diversity Business Connection will continue to oversee The Chamber’s existing minority business mentoring services and Power of Diversity Celebration, while adding programming designed to better serve our rapidly growing minority and women business member base. We have exciting plans to celebrate the achievements of emerging minority and executives, host speakers highlighting issues of interest to the metro area’s diverse business community and to host contracting fairs encouraging meaningful business contacts. Through the development of minority and women-owned businesses, the Diversity Business Connection continues the long-standing mission to provide opportunities of self-sufficiency, sustainability and business growth to the owner, thus helping entrepreneurs to create employment opportunities for our region.

Look Out for our New Programming and Events…

DBC Ace Award
The Diversity Business Connection in partnership with LinkKC (The Chamber’s Diversity and Inclusion program that supports senior and executive leadership new to the metropolitan area), recognize and honor culturally diverse mid-to-senior level management for their contributions to their employer and to the company’s bottom line.

DBC Contracting Fairs
It’s Where Buyers meet Suppliers! These Diversity Business Connection events provide attendees with an opportunity to meet with buyers and purchasing agents from the public, private, academic and government sectors; access available technical assistance; and gain access to upcoming contracting opportunities. Not your average contracting fair, this event is designed to connect capable small, minority- and women-owned suppliers with active purchasing agents who have real contracting opportunities.

DBC Speaker Series
Are you interested in what other minority entrepreneurs and experts are doing in today’s economy and what you can do to stay ahead of the game? The Diversity Business Connection Speaker Series is designed to give attendees’ access to in-depth information that all businesses can relate to help them develop a strategy that works for their companies. Meet with local and national industry leaders as they share their successes and failures that led to the innovative ideas that moved them to the top while boosting their bottom line.
