Kansas City, Jan. 3, 2012 — McGladrey & Pullen, LLP recently announced the appointment of Rick McDowell as manager in the firm’s Kansas City State and Local Tax practice.

Rick has over 20 years of experience in incentives negotiation and site selection working with various industry sectors assisting in expansions and relations. He has experience with tax credits, cash grants abatements, and/or exemptions from federal, state and local jurisdictions.

Before joining McGladrey & Pullen, Rick was the regional leader of two Big Four incentives practices. His prior employment also includes serving 10 years as president and marketing director of a regional not-for-profit economic development organization. He has also worked as a project manager for a state economic development department.

Rick is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) and is an instructor for the Heartland Economic Development Course (HEDC) through the University of Northern Iowa. He is a graduate of Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and business.
