BRR Architect named Emerging Professional of the Year by AIA Kansas City

Congratulations to BRR Architect, Chris Herring, for being named Emerging Professional of the Year by the American Institute of Architects – Kansas City (AIAKC). The 2011 Board of Directors Awards were presented at AIAKC’s annual Holiday Party. Each year, the Board of Directors nominates individuals or firms for the awards who have made significant contributions in advancing or preserving the built environment of metropolitan Kansas City.

Chris earned the Emerging Professional of the Year award for his exceptional commitment and contributions to the professional development of emerging professionals. In addition to the award, Chris was also nominated for Associate Director, a position on the AIAKC Board of Directors. A first-ever tie in the AIAKC elections resulted in a coin flip which his opponent ultimately won. Chris is an active member of the AIA Emerging Professionals Committee and plans and coordinates monthly ARE study sessions for the chapter, as well as their annual Speed Mentoring Event. He passed his Architecture Registration Exam in January, and is a recent graduate of the 2010-2011 Pillars leadership program.
