234 KC Companies Honored for Healthy Practices

Tuesday, January 9, the KC Chamber will honor the 234 companies and organizations that received Workplace Wellness Certifications in 2017. The companies were scored in five areas (five ‘pillars’ of health):  nutrition, physical activity, work/life integration, tobacco cessation/prevention, and design/build (the physical work environment).
The companies and organizations being honored recognize the importance of a healthy workforce as a business issue – it affects both employee productivity and a company’s bottom line.
The 234 businesses will be celebrated Tuesday from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Arrowhead Stadium. Healthy vendors will be on hand as well. Five certified organizations will be highlighted for their good health practices.
