WORLD TRADE CENTER
The Chamber’s World Trade Center has been a member since 1990 of the World Trade Center Association (WTCA) a not-for-profit, non-political association that represents 281 centers in 80 countries around the globe. The World Trade Center Association, the world’s largest private international trade association, was created to promote global trade and, through those relationships, foster peace and understanding.
The World Trade Center is committed to:
Focusing on trade education of the business community
Building global business leadership
Promoting a unified voice of the business community to our International Investors, to our membership, and to the small and medium sized business located in the greater Kansas City region.
In 1997, the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce recognized the need to develop an international executive business leadership program under its World Trade Center brand. Now recruiting for its 12th year, this signature program provides a forum where business, government and community champions deliver key strategies illustrating international best business practices.

This program allows networking opportunities between students and presenters. Business presenters and academia are encouraged to participate!

The WTC book club was launched in 2006 with the facilitation of the Tom Freidman’s book, The World is Flat. Other titles have included: China, One Billion Customers, The Flight of the Creative Class and The Lexus and the Olive Tree. Conducted in partnership with UPS. Facilitation is done by key Kansas City executives engaged in global business activities. Sessions meet quarterly. This opportunity is ideal for busy executives who desire thoughtful and compelling insights to key global book titles.
Certificates of Origin
A certificate of origin, an official document stating the country of origin of the goods being delivered, is often required by the customs authorities of the importing country as part of the entry process. It may be required even though the commercial invoice contains the information. The Chamber provides this service at a significantly reduced rate exclusively to Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce members.
