KCMO Deferred Maintenance

The Chamber has released its latest analysis of Kansas City, Missouri’s deferred maintenance situation. Our study in 2003 found a backlog of $753-million in needed repairs to the City’s bridges, streets, public buildings, and other infrastructure. This latest report has found that, although Kansas City has made large investments in new capital improvements, it is in fact falling further behind in its annual maintenance program.

The analysis was authored by former KCMO Public Works Director Ed Wolf and Jamie Green, now of The Chamber’s Government Relations staff. The Chamber’s Executive Committee endorsed the report on January 8, 2007.
